Let's step away from the technology for at least an hour each month to connect and laugh over fun board/card games. Blue Orange Games sponsors this Meetup group by providing games and other perks. This meetup has been going on since about November 2011, as a place to organize weekly game nights. We play mostly Euro-style strategy games, such as those found on boardgamegeek.com. So, experienced strategy gamers are preferred but if you don't mind learning some relatively complicated rules, we are happy to teach. We are always looking to recruit others to the die-hard boardgamer cult. Welcome!

Calling all board game enthusiasts! This is a new meetup group, so I'm open for suggestions about where this meetup group could go and what types of board games we could play - at this point, anything's "fair game" - haha. Once we have a few memb …

Together, we will discuss game theory, game ideas, design concepts, the process of prototyping, playtest existing designs …

Dominion is a fun, easy to learn, deck building card game. Each player starts with an identical, very small deck of cards. In the center of the table is a selection of other cards the players can "buy" as they can afford them. Through their selection of cards to buy, and how they play their hands as they draw them, the players construct their deck on the fly, striving for the most efficient path to the precious victory points by game end. 2-5 players. The game usually takes 30-45 minutes. No gam …

Hunting for other LGBTQIPA geeks in the East Bay and Bay Area. Maybe you're into video games, board games, cult movies, geeky TV or video. Maybe all of the above! I'm new in town and looking to find more people who would enjoy this kind of stuff. :)
We are a group of people that get together to play our favorite Euro-style games. (Think Alien Frontiers to Finca; Settlers to Zooloretto) On the 1st. 3rd and occasionally the 5th Mondays we are at our Duboce location. The 2nd and 4th Mondays we meet at our Eureka location.
Play chess like your life DOESN'T depend on the outcome! Ideal players are adults who know at least the basic rules, but don't take the game too seriously. You should be open to playing with a beer/glass of wine close at hand. You should have a very relaxed attitude about winning/losing. Women certainly welcome! Just for fun, fun, fun, and the chance to stay in practice. BYOCB (bring your own chess board) if possible.
