While we all play games for our body's health & fitness, few of us play games for our brain's health & fitness. But recent medical research says we should. It shows that there are 3 important contributors to brain fitness: (1) eating the right food & nutrition; (2) maintaining physical activity & exercise; and (3) playing super fun games with others. The first two are easy enough to do, but where and how can you play super fun games with others? Easy: Thinkers' Toys. What are Thin …

Hello Role Players! I have started this group to see if we can develop the Chicago region RPG community in a similar manner as the board game community (www.chicagoboardgames.com). The goal of RPG Chicago is to: - Aid roleplayers in the Chicagoland area to get into groups that meet their interests - Establish and/or communicate roleplaying events and other items of interest occuring throughout the Chicagoland area, regardless of system - Effectively communicate to publishers and local busine …
Hey Evanston Social Game Players! Come to a Friendly Games Meetup to play old favorites with new friends. All games and skill levels are welcome. Bring your favorite board games, card games, word games, etc. You can teach us or we can learn that new game together. You can also just hang out and socialize with a fun group of people.
Meet nearby Party Game Players! This group is designed for adults (sort-of) who enjoy games like Pictionery, Scattergories, Password, and Charades. Very easy rules and a nice, intimate setting where we keep score but nobody loses. Typically, we stick to PARTY games and not card or board games. It's more constant action for everybody, and, I believe, lends itself to more goofiness! MAKE TIME FOR FUN!!

… If you like to laugh, dance, and even sing and have a little competitive streak that enjoys board games, cards, baseball, train trips to the city, and interesting people with interesting minds, this is it! The only games we play have rules and if a hookup is your only goal, there are other places for that. Of course we all like to date and make new friends, but our focus is all about making lasting friendships that will be around ten years from now.
Games bring people together and sharpen the senses. They promote comraderie and much a creativity. Our mission is to bring together gamers of all skill levels and social comfortableness, and turn it into a positive experience.

We are extremely happy to have beginners! Whether you are new to our group, or new to Euro games (or both!), we will help you to find a game that you will enjoy :) If you have a specific game you wish to p …

This group has new organizers! Instead of letting this group disappear, Jeff Bergen of the Elgin gaming store The Gaming Goat has stepped up to be the organizer of this group. Since he also runs the store's Meetup group, he's leaving it to other gamers to manage it and maintain the meetups. As such, we're going to try and open the group up to announce any public rpg gatherings in or around Elgin. So, feel free to suggest new meetups to announce your own games, or update us on existing game …

My friends and I have been playing Axis and Allies for years now. We have grown tired of the same old alliances and strategies. So, we have created a revised rules version of A&A use the 1940's Europe and Pacific maps. The major changes are that we have now started the game with no alliances of any kind. Players are encouraged to forge their own alliances, and to break them. Any diplomatic resolution you can think of can be used in this game. The way a turn works has also been changed. We …
